Forge and Forget: key art

Banished for forging a ridiculously tiny sword, you turn a cave into a forge and hammer out weapons for shady customers.

Wishlist on Steam

The king demanded a weapon. You gave him a joke. As the royal blacksmith you were ordered to forge a blade for a king hungry for conquest, and you chose a quiet protest: a ridiculously tiny sword. Branded a traitor and banished, you are left with your craft and a strange talking raven, who leads you to an abandoned cave and helps you turn it into a forge.

Now you forge your way back to master blacksmith, one weapon at a time. Your customers are shady strangers who show up after dark with unusual requests, pouches full of coins and very little patience. Follow their blueprint, choose the right metal and handle, and mind the finer details. Across five regions orders get harder, with metals that heat and cool differently and new runes to learn.

  • Shape every strike: shape heated metal on a voxel grid in our custom engine with three hammers. The lengthening hammer draws the blade out, the widening hammer makes it broader and heavier, and the precision hammer forms the tang and the tip.
  • Grind it to perfection: cut excess metal with the cutting wheel, carve notches and complex shapes with the notching wheel, and sharpen one or both edges with the sharpening wheel.
  • Read between the runes: listen to what a customer really needs, find the right runes in your enchanted book and inscribe three of them on the blade. The pattern vanishes the moment you start drawing, so memorize it.
